Hey Beauties! :D

Today is all about foundation. It is so important that you get your foundation right. It honestly can make you either looking glamous or down right silly. We don't want to look orange or dead do we? So if you are serious about looking like a celebrity keep reading...

There are three steps in finding the perfect foundation. They consist of identifying your skin tone, testing out the colours and lastly, applying a full application.

Step 1: Identify your skin tone

It is important to remove all makeup, pull your hair back and look at yourself in the mirror. You don't need to take a selfie (unless you want to). Make sure when you are checking yourself out, that it's in good daylight. There is no point in checking out yourself in the dark, plus I would totally freak myself out. Anyway! Examine your face, neck, chest, d├ęcolletage, shoulders and even your hands to get a overview of all the tones in your skin. Take a note of any dark or light patches, pigmentation, blemishes or slight differences in colouring.

Step 2: Tester time

After looking closely at the tones and colours of your total skin package, choose a few shades you think might fit the bill. This is your starting point. Don't worry if you get it wrong. You are just starting and this takes time! I bought about five different foundations before I actually found the best one. So I'm hoping you don't need to go through bottles of foundation before you hit the jackpot. Now, you need to test each foundation along your jawline or on the side of your neck. Blend from here downwards to the side of your neck. I always take notice of the coverage - too light, too dark, too warm or is it too cool? You can click here to read up on colour theory. I briefly mention warm and cool tones. Keep adjusting until you find the right one.

Step 3: Full Application

Weeee! You have found the right foundation, now its time to apply. DON'T PANIC if you think the foundation is too light or dark, you can always go back to step two until you find success.

This has defiantly helped me choose a foundation! Thank you! <3

    1. Not a problem at all! It's really important to make sure you match correctly. If you are really stuck, you can always ask the cosmetician or makeup artist! :D
